Local PA Cemetery - Geehr Results

Laura Sherrod - 2013

Several small bipolar magnetic anomalies are present at this site. Metal in the fence around the cemetery may have masked subsurface anomalies in close proximity to the fence.

The conductivity map of the site exhibits a distinct heading effect. There is a general trend of higher conductivity in the south over the cultivated land.

GPR profiles performed in the cornfield south of the fenced graveyard contain only flat reflectors. However, distinct hyperbolic reflections are apparent in several of the profiles north of and adjacent to the fenced area, as shown in the GPR profiles below at 6.5N and 13.5N. These correspond to bipolar magnetic anomalies and are labeled as A and B respectively on both the maps and profiles for this site.

The Geehr Cemetery is next to a cornfield on a local Kutztown farm. GEL 358 students perform a GPR survey using a 400MHz antenna Horse and cart passing the survey area
GEL 358 students perform the magnetic survey with a G-858. The area south of the cemetery was surveyed after the corn was cut GEL 358 students perform the EM survey with a Gem2
