Instructions for Accessing Blackboard

You are currently enrolled in Blackboard, a web based supplement to this course. To access the course, you will need to point your browser to http://blackboard.kutztown.edu/ and click on the Login button. You can also go to http://faculty.kutztown.edu/mayrhofe/chm020/chm020.html, click on Blackboard Login link then click on the Login button. Your username for Blackboard is the your Kutztown University email account username. Your password is the first four characters of your last name + Date of Birth in YYYYMMDD in CAPITOL letters. For example if your name is Robert Oppenheimer and your birth date is August 6, 1966 then you would type (be sure that the letters are in CAPITOL LETTERS for the password!)

After logging in, you will be taken to your “My Institution” page where Introduction to Chemistry will be listed for you. Click on the name of the course to enter it.

Check Announcements

• Your course will always open to the Announcements page. It is important to always read the announcements, as this will be a main communication tool for your instructor to relay messages to you.

Check Course Documents

• This folder will contain the lecture slides, problem sets & solutions, solutions to tests and the laboratory handouts.

Check Assignment

• This folder will contain quizzes that you will be asked to periodically complete.

Check for Grades

· To find out your test grade, click on the link titled Tools, this will take to page with a menu of choices. Click on My Grades for quiz and test grades.
