EVALUATION AND GRADING:

      Test 1—January 28, 2004 (WEDNESDAY)

       Test 2—February 25, 2004 (WEDNESDAY)

       Test 3—March 31, 2004 (WEDNESDAY)

       Test 4—April 28, 2004 (WEDNESDAY)

       Writing Project (10%)—April 16, 2004 (FRIDAY)

       Final Exam (30%)--

       May 3, 2004 (MONDAY at 2-4 pm)

       Only 3 test grades count (20% each)--the lowest is dropped automatically.

       If final average is 90 to 100, then final grade = A.

       If final average is greater than or equal to 80 but less than 90, then final grade = B.

       If final average is greater than or equal to 70 but less than 80, then final grade = C.

       If final average is greater than or equal to 60 but less than 70, then final grade = D.

       If final average is below 60, then final grade = F.

 

ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is highly recommended. Attendance on test days is mandatory. A student absent from a test will be allowed to take a make-up if a SATISFACTORY excuse is provided. All make-ups are on Friday April 23, 2004.

 

ASSIGNMENTS: Problems assigned to be done out of class will be made regularly; they will NOT be collected. Class time will be devoted to answering questions about the homework assignments.
