| TITLE: Reference/Maps Librarian |

| PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides general reference
service. Manages and administers the Map Collection.
Serves as liaison to the Latino community of Kutztown
University. Catalogs maps for the Map Collection. |

| Reference Services |
 |
Works cooperatively with other
Reference librarians in contributing to the total
Reference program. |
|
Provides service at the Reference desk as
assigned, including evenings and weekends. |
|
Offers one-to-one assistance to all patrons in
making effective use of the library's collections,
facilities, and services. Perform online database
searching as needed. |
|
|
| Maps |
|
Maintains the Map Library at the
level necessary to support the curriculum. Provide
maps generated through the Superintendent of
Documents depository program. |
|
Selects maps and classifies them in
preparation for cataloging and maintains the maps in
good order and repair.Develops the Map Collection
and supports the Geography Department by selecting
map and software materials for purchase. |
|

Provides professional assistance to
library patrons and staff in making the most
effective use of the maps. |

Conducts instruction in the use of
maps and the map library. |

Prepares bulletin board displays and other
publications to promote the Map Collection. |

Catalogs and processes maps for the
library map collection. |
|
Liaison to Latino Community of Kutztown
University |
|
Serves as the library liaison to Latino groups
on campus by promoting library services. |
|
Develops Web and other resource guides for the
Kutztown Latino community in collaboration with the
Collection Development and Voices & Choices
Librarian. |
|
|
| Other Responsibilities |
|
Participates in the work of
departmental and campus-wide faculty committees. |
|
Participates in professional
development appropriate to a faculty librarian. |
|
Participates in the Library
Instruction program. |
|
Supervises student assistants in the Reference
and Maps areas. |
|
Performs related duties as assigned by the
Coordinator of Reference Services and the Dean of
Library Services. |
