ADDING EQUATION EDITOR
TO A MICROSOFT WORD TOOLBAR

STEP 1

Pull down the Tools Menu, and release when the cursor is over Customize… at the bottom of the menu.

STEP 2

In the window that opens, click on the Commands tab at the top.

Click on Insert in the left scrolling window.

Scroll through the window on the right until you find Equation Editor (close to the bottom).

STEP 3

Click and drag the Equation Editor icon to the toolbar where you want to place it. A vertical black bar will appear at the point of insertion. When you are pleased with the placement, release the mouse button. The Equation Editor icon will magically appear in your toolbar!

To see a demonstration of this, play the QuickTime movie to the right (the controller is at the very bottom of the movie).

If you don't have the QuickTime plug-in, click on the icon below to get your free copy.

STEP 4

Click on OK. That's all there is to it. You can add other frequently-used commands in the same way.

To remove a icon from the toolbar, open the Customize window and simply drag the icon out of the toolbar.
