TITLE: Falling Into Math SUBJECT: 7th / 8th Grade Pre-Algebra TOPIC: Simple Algebraic Equations, Fractions, Decimals and Percents INTERACTIVITY: Students will solve the algebraic equations or convert the numbers on the leaves and place them in their correct packets. All leaves should be on the tree to begin. Not all leaves will be used. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: There are 5 different envelops on the bulletin board with a number posted on the front. On the tree are leaves and apples with algebraic equations, fractions and percents. Solve or convert each leaf or apple and place in their correct pocket. Not all leaves will be used. When finished empty packets, record your selections on your sheet and replace leaves on bulletin board. TIME: 10 minutes SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION: Leaves and apples are velcroed to bulletin board for easy removal and replacement CREDIT: Students will work by themselves. They will receive extra credit ranging from 1 to 3 points depending on their answers. Greg Mitchell
