TITLE: Jump and Compare Integers

SUBJECT: 7th Grade Math

TOPIC: Comparing Negative Integers

INTERACTIVITY: The point of this activity is to have student compare negative integers using pre-made < and > signs.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Take an activity sheet from the pouch.
  2. For each problem take a little frog from the light blue bag labeled ‘Comparing Integers.’ Each frog has a < or > sign.
  3. Place the frog in the appropriate direction on a lily pad.

TIME: 5 minutes

SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION: There was some special construction needed to be done. The frogs were either purchased, drawn, or cutout. Also the lily pads were drawn and traced to cut out all ten. The little frogs had Velcro on them in order to stick to the lily pads. All materials were laminated.

CREDIT: The students will get a homework grade. This can be used as a station when doing group work in your classroom.
