Define mode, median, and mean.

Calculate the mode, median, and mean of small data sets.

Recognize the mode of a frequency distribution of categorical data (i.e., distinguish between the mode, and the frequency of occurence for the mode).

Identify properties of each measure of central tendency including:

• the types of data and or distributions and or questions for which it is appropriate or inappropriate
• ways in which it is affected by skew or missing data

• Know and demonstrate that  (X-)=0

Calculate the weighted mean of two or more samples, given the mean and size of each one.

Use the relative positions of the mean, median, and mode of a distribution to determine its skew.

Identify the effect of adding, deleting, or changing scores at various points in a distribution on the mean, the median, and the mode.
