Since there are many topics that we will not be able to discuss in depth in class, assembled here are some web sites of special interest.

RoboCup 2003:

As mentioned in class, there is an annual competition of soccer playing robots.  The next one takes place in the summer of 2003.  This page also has links to information about RoboCup in general as well as information about previous competitions.

Deep Blue:

The computer program/hardware that beat world champion Garry Kasparov in a chess match.  IBM's website.

Various Game Playing programs/algorithms:

This website contains information on a number of different games.  It includes information about the development by Victor Allis of Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands of a winning strategy and about the prize for the first program to beat a Taiwanese professional Go player.
