8/29 – Yesterday the issue of equipment was raised.  Please check out the KU Undergrad Research Committee.  Notice that among the awardees are some fellow computer science majors!!

Make sure you check the deadlines carefully.  Obviously, if you want funding for your seminar project, you will need to apply ASAP.

8/27b – Remind me to talk about the Challenge Problems/Programs.

8/27 – For Thursday please do the following:

            1^st HW exercise – email to me & bring copy to class. 

            {Note: Since this is an open-ended exercise you may be tempted to overdo it; one hour (or two at the

                        most) should suffice.}

            Read – Cooper chapter 9 & Saffer chapter 1 plus pp. 96-101

            Check you schedule for times before and after the class schedule I gave you; pick out several time

            frames for your weekly meeting.
