10/18Although, overall, IT still has a better job market than most academic areas, it is a good idea to bear down and study hard so you can be competitive, since the job market is definitely tightening.

11/17 – Corrections have been made to the Introduction to Relations page.  Please download/refer to the new one.

11/10The answer key from the Spring '08 Test2 has been revised to reflect better solutions to problems 19, 20 & EC-3.

11/9One good way to start studying for Test #2 is to do the problems from Spring '08 Test #2.  During the test this short summary of basic definitions, theorems and algorithms will be available..

10/27Please review the answers to #29 & #30 from 10.1.  If time permits, more answers will be added.

10/11Please check the Day's Notes for Wednesday's assignment.  By Wednesday's class you should be well along with section 10.1.

10/1Some more answers to homework problems have been posted.

9/29In addition to the study material for the upcoming test that I showed you this afternoon, I posted some answers to some of the homework problems.

9/28BIt is never too soon to be thinking about grad school.  A good way to start is to scout out grad programs.  I have some information here.

9/28 Revisions to the N 1s challenge:  When you submit your code,

            1. Send files with the strings generated for inputs of [3, 7] and [4,8].

            2. Send a count of the number of strings produced for inputs of [12, 24] and [15, 30].

The 1st prize has been claimed.  The 2nd and 3rd prizes are still open.

9/26 Preliminary results seem to indicate that the number of strings generated for the N 1s challenge: is too great for the input of [37, 122] suggested in class.  I am in the process of checking this out and will post something here soon.

9/9Check out Captain KURK's website: http://www.kutztown.edu/activities/clubs/kurk/

8/30bIt is not too soon to be thinking about REUs!!!

8/29Please check out the KU Undergrad Research Committee.  Notice that among the awardees are some fellow computer science majors!!  Perhaps you have a research project in mind.

8/28Don't forget that we covered a good part of Section 9.2 in class so, in addition the 9.1 homework you want to do the problems from 9.2 at least up to #30.

8/27bRemind me to talk about the Challenge Problems/Projects.
