A Solid of Revolution: Football

As an introduction to so-called solids of revolution, we will rotate the upper hemisphere of an ellipse about the x-axis to create a Prolate Spheroid (or Ellipsoid) in 3-D space. It looks like a football.

Due to limitations of the Windows OS, transparent surfaces will never come out as intended on PC’s.
