Exams
Three (3) paper exams, each worth 100 points, will be given.
Exam Administration If you are local or on campus:
You can take the exams and the final with me at KU. This option has the advantage that you can ask me questions during an exam.

If you cannot come to campus:
1. If you live too far to drive to campus, then find a proctor.
The proctor will be asked to submit documents that verify his/her position.
Examples of proctors: See this list.
All proctor information must be transmitted to me at least 10 days prior to the date of an exam.
2. Find a mutually convenient time for you and your proctor. Certain date & time restrictions may apply. Details will be emailed to you and your proctor.
3. When you are finished with an exam, the proctor should fax the exam to me. A fax number will be emailed to the proctor.
4. A graded exam will be emailed back to you as a PDF file.
   
Makeup Exam
Given during the week before the finals week.
If you miss an exam, you should contact me as soon as possible.
There is no automatic guarantee that you can take a makeup.
   
Final
The final is worth 100 points and its structure is the same as other exams.
The final is cumulative.
 
 
Points     
A possible maximum cumulative score in this course is 450 points.
The breakdown is:
• Quizzes (50 points): The top five (5) quiz scores count.
• Exams (300 points) 
• Final (100 points) 
 
 
Grading System
Your grade in this course is based on your cumulative score.

Description
MAT 121 – Mathematics for Business and Information Science (3 sh)
This course focuses on the application of mathematical concepts and methods to problems that arise for students who major in Business or Computer Science. The topics include a review of algebraic concepts and problem solving, systems of linear equations, matrix algebra, linear programming with graphical and simplex method solutions, and probability. A graphing calculator is required for this course.
Prerequisites: MAT 105 or two years of high school algebra is the prerequisite for MAT 121.
