 Three (3) paper exams, each worth 100 points, will be given.
Exam Administration If you are local or on campus:
You can take the exams and the final with me at KU. This option has the advantage that you can ask me questions during an exam.

If you cannot come to campus:
1. If you live too far to drive to campus, then find a proctor.
The proctor will be asked to submit documents that verify his/her position.
Examples of proctors: See this list.
All proctor information must be transmitted to me at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of an exam.
2. Find a mutually convenient time for you and your proctor. Certain date & time restrictions may apply. Details will be emailed to you and your proctor.
3. When you are finished with an exam, the proctor should fax the exam to me. A fax number will be emailed to the proctor.
   
Makeup Exam
 You must have a valid verifiable proof for your absence to request a makeup.
(For example, if you were ill, you must provide a note from a doctor’s office.)
If your request is granted, the makeup is given during the week before the finals week.
   
Final
 The final is worth 100 points and its structure is the same as other exams.
The final is cumulative.
 
  
Points     
 A possible maximum cumulative score in this course is 450 points.
The breakdown is:
• Quizzes (50 points): The top five (5) quiz scores count.
• Exams (300 points) 
• Final (100 points) 
 
  
Grading System
 Your grade in this course is based on your cumulative score.

Catalog
Description		 MAT 105 – College Algebra (3 sh)
This course is intended for students with an elementary knowledge of algebra who need more work in algebraic topics before taking more advanced mathematics courses. Topics include properties of the real numbers, problem-solving using equations and inequalities, algebraic functions, graphing, and systems of equations. A graphing calculator is required for this course.
Prerequisites: Two years of algebra at the high school level is the prerequisite for MAT 105.
