Making a Smooth Start

What you should bring to class

•

Four color pens (RED, GREEN, BLUE, ORANGE)

•

Graphing calculator (TI-84 Plus or TI-83 Plus; TI-89, TI-86, TI-85, TI-83, TI-82)

Prepare your computer

Install the latest versions of the following (free) software on your computer (Mac or PC):

	Software	Purpose
	Adobe Reader	To open PDF files.
	iTunes	Click here to see the instructions on how to listen to podcasts.
	LiveMath Plug-In	To view LiveMath-enabled webpages.
	QuickTime Player	These three players let you view various multimedia-enabled webpages at this site.
	Flash Player
	ShockWave Player

Your KU email account

If you do not yet have a KU email account, contact the IT Help Center at (610) 683-1511 ASAP. The Center is located in 112 Stratton Administration Center.

All mass mailing to the students in your course will be sent to your KU account.

If you want to have your email forwarded to a different email address (such as hotmail or yahoo), then go to this page and read Item 6. If you activate the mail forwarding, remember to clean up your KU Inbox from time to time so that it will not become full.
