I make an effort to avoid just transferring knowledge by lecturing, rather I encourage students to create
their own knowledge. I use problems, case studies, critical incidents and personal narratives to find
key concepts, issues and knowledge. I encourage students to create their understanding more meaningfully
and more permanently by thinking critically, discussing, writing, and speaking while supporting,
encouraging and respecting others in the process. We work in teams to LEARN. My classes are designed
around base group learning teams from the cooperative learning pedagogy.
