Field Trip to the Marine Science Consortium
Each fall semester, as an optional assignment, students in my oceanography (GEG040) and physical geography (GEG010) courses may choose to go on a field trip to the Marine Science Consortium educational facilities. This is a three-day field trip; it focuses on processes that govern the geography of coastal and marine environments. The Consortium is composed primarily of universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Location: The Consortium's educational facilities are on the Delmarva Peninusula, five miles south of the Maryland-Virginia border, next to to the Wallops Island  NASA space flight facility. The Chesapeake Bay is west of and the Atlantic Ocean east of the Consortium.
