Directions: Take the Autobahn to Sterzing, Italy, which is 15 km (9.4 miles) south of Brenner Pass, then W of Sterzing 15 km to Schaubergwerk. Sixty-five km (41 miles) or one hour from Telfes.
The Setting: The trailhead is at the village of Schaubergwerk in the valley of the Ridnauner Bach, which drains into the Isarco River. The valley was glaciated. The slopes are forested.
The Trail: The trail is highlighted on the map in red; it is a well defined footpath for two-thirds of its length. The last one-third is not well maintained. Trail length (one way) is 13.6 km (8.5 miles).
