Internet
Explorer 7 and Blackboard
If you are having trouble getting Blackboard to
run properly using Internet Explorer 7, try the
procedure recommended by our IT staff.
These changes
are only needed for Internet Explorer 7
and are not needed for Internet
Explorer 6 or
older. To make the necessary changes, follow these
steps:
1. Open
Internet Explorer 7
2. Near the top
right corner of the window, click on “Tools”
3. Select the
last item called “Internet Options”
4. Click on the
second tab called “Security”
5. Click on the
icon labeled “Internet”
6. Click on the
button at the bottom called “Custom Level…”
7. Scroll about
80 percent of the way down to the section called
“Scripting”
8. Find the item
called “Allow Programmatic Clipboard Access“ and
make sure it is enabled
9. Find the item
called “Allow Status Bar Updates Via Script”
and make sure it is enabled
10. Click OK
11. Click on the
icon labeled “Trusted sites”
12. Click on the
button called “Sites”
13. Uncheck the
item called “Require server verification (https:)
for all sites on this zone”
14. In the text
box, type http://blackboard.kutztown.edu
and click “Add”
15. In the text
box, type http://bbkutztown.sytec.passhe.edu and
click “Add”
16. In the text
box type http://kutztownbb.sytec.passhe.edu and
click "Add"
17. Click "Close"
18. Click "OK"
Once
these changes are done, Blackboard should work properly with
IE7.
