Conclusions
Order of quenching efficiencies follow size: I- > Br - > Cl-.
Quenching of quinine by Cl- and Br - follow the Stern-Volmer model.
I- quenching shows a positive deviation from Stern-Volmer which may be accounted for by the “sphere of action” model.
The “sphere of action” model allows one to separate the dynamic from the apparent static quenching.
Quinine quenching may be used as a tool to investigate organized media.
