Conclusions
Through our steady-state investigation, we determined the formation constant of the PRODAN/_-CD complex to be 2300 M-1.
The fluorescence lifetime of free PRODAN was 1.45 ns. PRODAN bound to _ -CD has a lifetime of 3.65 ns.
For free PRODAN, we retrieved a rotational correlation time of 0.19 ns. A larger rotational correlation time of 0.997 ns was determined for PRODAN bound to _ -CD.
Debeye-Stokes equation suggests at least 2 waters of hydration.
