In an effort to understand how cyclodextrins (CD’s) include guests we:
- determined the equilibrium constant for the formation of the complex using steady-state fluorescence.
- used fluorescence lifetimes to distinguish between free and bound guest.
- measured the rate at which a CD complex rotates using the decay of fluorescence anisotropy.
