This tutorial will show you how to enter a matrix on the TI-89.
| What to Enter | Screen Shots |
| Press APPS. Using cursors, locate Data/Matrix Editor. Press ENTER. |

| Select 3:New… to create a new matrix. Press ENTER. |
 |
| Data blinks. |
 |
| Press the RIGHT cursor. Select 2:Matrix and press ENTER. |
 |
| Enter a variable such as a, b, etc. Press ALPHA to release the character entry. Enter row and column dimensions. Press ENTER. |

| Enter values in each entry of the matrix. |
 |
For example, if we want to enter the following matrix then the entries will look like this: |

| Press HOME to return to the Home screen. Then, type a and press ENTER. The Home screen shows the matrix. |
