Directional Derivatives
What would we mean by the slope of a surface? We will try to answer this question by slicing a 3-D object with vertical planes and look at the cross section created by the cut. As we rotate the graphs, we should pay attention to how sharply or moderately the curve created by the cross section rises or falls along the exterior and interior walls of the 3-D object.
