| Hyperbolic Functions These functions have similarities and differences when compared to trigonometric functions. For example, below we have the graph of y = cosh(x). Since it is not one-to-one, we restrict its domain to 0≤x<∞. If we then flip the graph about y = x, we obtain the graph of y = arccosh(x). Do you want to graph tanh and arctanh the same xy-plane? No problem. In the above statements, double-click on cosh and type tanh. If the graph window shows an error, simply click on it and it should refresh the window to give you the graph of tanh. Then, double-click on arccosh and type arctanh. Now, you will see both tanh and arctanh in the same xy-plane being symmetrical with respect to y = x. |
