Podcast—The Concept

Your students often have trouble retaining the knowledge you pass onto them. They forget.

With audio and video recaps of lectures, the students can listen & watch the same information they heard & saw in class. They can review their notes as they listen along. Or, if they were sick and could not come to class, they can try to catch up by listening to your podcast.

All of us lose concentration from time to time. You may write down information but forget in what context it was said since our mind wandered off. The audio & video recap along with the written information is a wonderful way to reinforce knowledge.

Students with learning disabilities may find your podcast particularly helpful to them. Even regular students have trouble concentrating for a full stretch of class. Students with ADD can repeatedly listen to your podcast, as many times as they want to.

You can include additional instructional materials in your podcast. Say, you teach art or foreign languages. Visual & audio materials can easily be added to your podcast as a supplement. Possibilities are endless.
