General Quiz Info
NOT appliable to courses in which online quizzes are given.

Each quiz usually has five (5) questions, each worth two (2) points, for a total of ten (10) points.
The types of problems on a quiz are very similar to exercise problems.
Each problem on a quiz is a partial-credit problem. So, even if your final answer is wrong, you may still collect some credit from mathematically correct work. That is why it is important to practice writing out solutions as you do exercise problems.
On the other hand, if you write only the answer, you are unlikely to collect much of the credit. Always show your algebra.
A quiz is given during the last 20 to 30 minutes of the class.

As stated in the syllabus, quizzes account for up to 50 points toward a possible maximum cumulative score of 450 points.
Since 10% of 450 is 45, your performance on quizzes can easily change your final grade by one letter up or down.
